The foundation of every custom piece is the material itself. We specialize in working with architectural-grade metals, each offering unique structural properties and aesthetic possibilities. Our finishing techniques range from time-honored chemical patinas to state-of-the-art powder coatings.
Base Metals
Mild & Hot-Rolled Steel
The workhorse of architectural fabrication. Offers immense strength and a beautiful, organic "mill scale" texture when left exposed. Ideal for structural railings, monumental stairs, and raw industrial aesthetics.
Architectural Brass & Bronze
Living materials that age gracefully over time. Brass brings a warm, luxurious glow to any space, while bronze offers deep, sculptural permanence. Perfect for high-end hardware, handrails, and accents.
Aluminum
Lightweight and inherently corrosion-resistant. Aluminum is our preferred substrate for exterior gates, outdoor furniture, and coastal environments where saltwater degradation is a concern.
Finishes & Patinas
Matte Black Powder Coat
A baked-on, highly durable finish that resists scratching, chipping, and fading. Offers a clean, modern aesthetic with zero maintenance. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Statuary Bronze Patina
A chemical oxidation process applied to brass or bronze that artificially ages the metal, resulting in deep, rich brown tones with subtle variations. Waxed for interior protection.
Satin Brushed Brass
A physical finish where the metal is linearly abraded to create a soft, non-reflective sheen. Often sealed with a clear lacquer to prevent natural tarnishing, maintaining its bright luxury.
Blackened Steel
A chemical treatment applied directly to raw steel that turns the surface a deep gunmetal-to-black color while allowing the natural grain and mill scale to show through. Sealed with penetrol or wax.
